Intensive and mini – how do those fit together? Quite simply: the courses offered here are intensive because they last for several hours in a row. This gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the German language. At the same time, they are usually not courses that run over several weeks. These “mini” courses give you the chance to find out whether such a course is right for you. In German, we would call them “Schnupperkurse”.
“Schnuppern” is what animals do with their noses to find something good to eat. First they sniff, and then maybe they eat it
All Courses:
German for Beginners
Have you always wanted to learn German but haven’t had the opportunity or found the time yet? Or are you simply not sure whether this language is right for you? Then just give it a try! This mini intensive course is designed to help you get to know the German language a little, formulate your first questions and answers, and simply find out whether this language is for you and whether you would like to continue learning it.
Requirements:
- NO knowledge of German required! The course is aimed at absolute beginners
- You just need the motivation to get to know the German language a little
Explanations and translations during the lessons will be in English. If only Italian-speaking participants are present, they will be in Italian.
What to expect:
- 3 hours of immersion in the German language
- Pronunciation
- Mini conversations (simple questions and simple answers)
- Getting to know the first verbs

Rusty German! (B level)
You learned German many years ago, and your level was actually quite good—but now you feel like you don’t remember anything? So your German is a bit rusty, but you’d really like to try speaking it again.
Then join the mini intensive course “Rusty German”
Requirements:
- You used to speak German fairly well (at least end of B1 level / B2 level or higher), but now you feel that you’ve forgotten a lot.
What to expect:
- 3 hours of conversation in German about everyday situations (in a restaurant, at a hotel, shopping, complaints)
- Role plays
- Conversation games
- Small corrections and possibly short grammar explanations
No worries! We will ease into the conversation slowly.

Let’s Discuss! (German C-Level)
Would you like to discuss various current topics in German but don’t have conversation partners? Would you also like to improve your vocabulary and express yourself more fluently and accurately in discussions on current topics?
Then join this 4-month course. We will meet once a month on Saturday mornings via Zoom and talk about current texts or video excerpts. Of course, we will also focus on new vocabulary and error correction.
Requirements:
- Your German is at a C level.
What to expect:
- Current texts, excerpts from talk shows / videos as discussion prompts
- Small conversation games to help you retain new vocabulary
- Correction of typical mistakes
- nice conversations and interesting discussions with other German learners

Preparation Course for the Goethe B1 Exam
Would you like to prepare for the Goethe B1 exam but you feel you need a bit of support? In this four-week course, we will mainly focus on the two productive skills: writing and speaking. We will analyze the structure of these two parts of the exam, work on improving written style, and learn how to avoid common mistakes. In addition, we will simulate the oral exam (presentation and discussion) and explore strategies to successfully complete this part.
If there is still time at the end of the course, we will address any remaining questions, provide general exam tips, and, if needed, briefly look at the listening and reading sections, although these will NOT be the main focus of this course.
Requirements:
- You are at the end of the B1 level and want to prepare for the exam
What to expect:
- Tips for the different parts of the oral and written exams
- Guidance on avoiding mistakes / correcting your own writing
- Simulation of the oral exam with tips and feedback (don’t worry! Even though it’s a simulation, we’ll have fun!)

In this mini intensive German course, we will look at potentially difficult situations in pharmacies, medical practices, or care settings, where empathy and de-escalation skills are required from staff – of course, in German.
Requirements:
- You have at least a solid B1 level in German or higher.

Do you want or need to apply for jobs in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland in German, but job interviews in particular make you a bit nervous? In this mini intensive course, we will look at typical questions that may come up in a job interview and simulate short interviews through role plays.
Requirements:
- You have a B2 level (or higher) in German, or at least a very good B1 level.

- Typical situations and challenges in job interviews
- Typical questions and vocabulary used in job interviews
- Role plays (simulations of short job interviews)

Team meetings in German can be quite challenging at the beginning. In this mini intensive course, we will look at typical phrases used during team meetings and simulate meetings in different professional fields.

German for the Workplace – Part 3: Complaint Management
Mistakes can happen, of course also at work. But how do you respond appropriately, both in writing and orally, to complaints from customers? And how do you do that in German? In this mini intensive course, we will look at how to write a good complaint email in German using relatively simple expressions and how to respond to complaint emails. In addition, we will practice through role plays how to complain orally in a friendly but firm way and how to respond appropriately to such complaints.

- You have a B2 level or a good B1 level.
What to expect:
- Typical vocabulary / useful expressions used in written and oral complaints
- Writing complaints and responses to complaint emails
- Role plays (simulations of oral complaints)
